Whole inspection system created from efficient production management

As we Earth Chemical Co.,Ltd place the highest priority on product quality,
total inspection is performed during the production phase. Through inspection
equipment we developed and upgraded by ourselves, we established a rigorous
and uncompromising quality-control system. This quality-first approach prevents
defects, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of a wide array of products
to the market.

No concern is small enough to be ignored

All employees have the power to stop the production line at any time if it is
deemed necessary for the production plant. It is the duty of every employee
involved in production to stop the line in the case of an abnormality, and every
employee in the production plant has that authority. Insistence on excellent
quality in every detail, no matter how small, is the mission of all production
employees.

Sharing information across departmental boundaries to maintain stable supply

Many of Earth Chemical’s products are seasonal, with demand being difficult to
predict due to weather. To gain accurate information about an ever-shifting
market, Earth Chemical depends on the Earth Total Network (ETN) , which
provides centralized, real-time information control on production, sales, and
distribution. The information obtained is shared and our production plans are
drafted accordingly. Once a month, the production and sales sectors hold a
joint meeting to manage the needs of each department and reach final
decisions on our direction. This process enables effective inventory control and
provision of our approximately 1,000 SKU products to markets without
shortages or oversupply.

Listening to our customers’ voices in pursuit of higher quality

When Earth Chemical discovers that customers are using our products incorrectly, simply explaining how to
use them correctly is not enough. We reseach and find out why a customer has used our products
incorrectly, how the mistake was made, if there were any problems with the instructions/diagrams, and
determine any other root causes to make the necessary improvements. Earth Chemical listens carefully to
customer feedback so we can utilize customer needs to raise quality by creating easy-to-use/easy to follow
directions.

“KAIZEN” improvement activities

Our activities include soliciting ideas from production plant employees in order to solve problems and
improve production efficiency. Once a problem is recognized, solutions are first explored in the workplace.
Promising ideas are then circulated within the company as proposals through peer group involvement.
These activities foster a shared sense of purpose. Every year, we receive improvement proposals that far
exceed our targets.
