Locally integrated marketing

Ever since the establishment of our affiliate in Thailand in 1984, we have
steadily expanded our widely-spanning overseas network from Southeast Asia
to the Middle East. We develop our insecticides, air fresheners, chemical
hygiene products, and other household commodities while observing the
different laws of each country as well as varying preferences in color, fragrance,
and many other factors. As exemplified by our recent establishment of Sales
Head Quarters in Guangzhou, we are strengthening marketing functions and
discovering new demand. For each country and region, strategies that blend in
locally are implemented for maximum efficiency.

A global vision aligned with Asia’s growth

In our ongoing global expansion, the top-priority market is China, a country still showing remarkable growth.
Earth Chemical is also actively expanding in India, whose rapid economic growth has attracted increasing
attention worldwide. Furthermore, we are also committing more efforts than ever to our existing markets in
ASEAN, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North America.

“Best Quality” includes our production system

Earth Chemical always endeavors to deliver the high quality and reliability of
Japanese products to markets everywhere. That is why we are so
uncompromising about our quality control. At our three overseas plants—one in
Thailand and two in China (Tianjin and Suzhou)—we add the skills and opinions
of local employees to a base of high-quality Japanese production operations.
This results in the best possible production framework at each location.

Earth Chemical products developed overseas gain a high popularity in Japan

Thailand’s needs for insecticide differ markedly from Japan’s. Our Thai
affiliate independently developed a trap-product for catching large rats.
When the product was introduced in Japan, under the name “Nezumi
Hoy Hoy Chu-bai-Chu Gyomuyo”, it had already become the best-selling
product in Thailand’s rat-control market. Sales in Japan exceeded
expectations, adding considerable value for our home market. This case
has proven the effectiveness of Earth Chemical’s global strategy, which
emphasizes strong roots in each country and region.

Southeast Asia, with its rapid economic growth, is one of the most
expected markets following China and India. Recognizing their potential
at an early stage, Earth Chemical endeavored in to Southeast Asia,
establishing ARS Chemical (Thailand) Co., Ltd in 1984, our first
overseas subsidiary. With 25 years of operation, ARS Chemical
(Thailand) has emerged as a vital overseas production and sales
facility, not only in Thailand but also for its neighboring countries. Its
presence increases as our brand sinks into the Southeast Asian
market.

Thailand

Tianjin
Earth Chemical made an early foray into China, inaugurating Earth
Chemical (Tianjin) Co., Ltd in 1990. This facility has played an
indispensable role in producing products for the Japanese market.In
April 2009, Earth Chemical (Tianjin) cut the ribbon on a new factory,
integrating the three insecticide production sites the company had,
boosting the production capacity in China by 50%.


Suzhou
Earth Chemical incorporated its second base in China, Suzhou Plant,
in 2005, as Earth Chemical (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Located to the
northwest of the powerhouse metropolis of Shanghai, Suzhou Plant
stands on a vast plot measuring 45,000m2. Like Tianjin Plant, Suzhou
Plant currently functions primarily as a production point for goods
bound for Japan. Going forward, however, this facility will apply its
enormous capacity to the production and sale of goods for the Chinese market.


Guangzhou
The Guangzhou Branch of Earth Chemical (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. was born
in Guangzhou in 2006 as its sales arm in Guangdong Province. Even in
China, the world’s No. 2 insecticide market, Guangzhou’s insecticide
needs are especially high, given the tropical heat and humidity of
southern China. To foster recognition of the ARS brand throughout
China, the company is focusing its marketing efforts on the core
markets of Guangzhou, Beijing and Shenzhen.

China

Europe

In major Western European markets such as the United Kingdom and
France, cockroach traps and aqua fumigators have enjoyed widespread
popularity for over 20 years. Earth Chemical products are also
becoming more widely known in Eastern Europe, where rapid growth is
expected to drive demand for higher standards of living in the near
future.

Europe

Africa

Africa has endemic areas where the mosquito is the transmitter for
many infectious diseases, including those that have long been a
problem such as malaria and dengue fever, as well as chikungunya
fever in recent times. As such, insecticides for mosquitoes have
become indispensable in the struggle to prevent these diseases. Earth
Chemical products have been well received in each African market for
their efficacy and safety. Other products such as “Daily Fresh” air
freshener are also seeing rising sales in recent years. Earth Chemical
is carefully watching the African region's strong potential.

The Middle East

In the Middle East, Earth Chemical markets insecticide products such
as “Hoy Hoy Trap-A-Roach”, “ARS No-Mat” liquid mosquito killer, and
“Red Earth” aqua fumigator, as well as “Daily Fresh” air freshener.
Through a PR partnership with the government of Saudi Arabia, Earth
Chemical sells ARS insecticide, which has become the top brand in its
category. Consumer interest in our products continues to mount year
by year in this region.

North America

On the west coast of the United States, which has a large Asian
population, “Bath Roman” bath powder is a longstanding favorite. “Hoy
Hoy Trap-A-Roach” enjoys enduring popularity in Hawaii. We will soon
focus on marketing cockroach traps, bath powders, and air fresheners
in New York and the surrounding eastern United States.

Central and South America

Earth Chemical insecticides have gained a good reputation in these regional markets. The list of fast-selling
categories includes cockroach trap products, aqua fumigators, ant bait, and liquid mosquito killer.

South Asia

With a rapid economic growth rate and a population exceeding one billion, India is a market with enormous
potential—and an important focus of Earth Chemical’s global strategy. The climate is hot and humid year-round
in most parts of India, creating demand for insecticides and liquid mosquito killers. With this need as a foothold,
Earth Chemical is deploying an expansion strategy focused on medium and long term approaches.
In neighboring Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, we are marketing many kinds of insecticides
aerosols, coils, mats, liquid mosquito killers, and rat-control products under the ARS brand. In Sri Lanka and
Bangladesh in particular, the ARS brand is well-established and respected.

East Asia

The Earth Chemical products that boast top share in the Japanese market are gaining further acclaim in the
markets of East Asia, including Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea. for example, Speedtox is the No. 1 selling
insecticide brand in Hong Kong.

Southeast Asia

Southeast Asian consumers have a strong need for products that
eliminate mosquitoes to prevent dengue fever and other infectious
diseases as in Africa. For this reason, the ARS insecticide brand is
widely known here. We are committing great efforts to discover local
demand in Malaysia, Vietnam, and other markets poised for solid
growth in the near future.

Oceania

In Oceania, we are focusing our sales efforts on aqua fumigators, particularly in New Zealand. Oceania’s markets
occupy a vital position in our overseas expansion efforts, where consumers place high priority on confort and
hygiene.
